Perform these checks once a week to help keep your maintenance costs down.
Walk round your car looking for signs of a slow puncture. Does a tyre look a little "flat"? Check the depth of the tread and check the sides of the tyres for damage. Check that tyre pressures are correct.
Exterior Lights
Turn all the exterior lights on and check for broken bulbs. Don't forget to check the main beam headlights and the indicators. Ensure that all the lenses are clean and not cracked.
Check All Seat Belts
Look for any signs of wear or frayed edges. If you have a child seat fitted make sure you check the belts securing it as well.
Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface and that the engine is not running.
Check the engine oil level.
If in doubt, consult the vehicles handbook.
Check the level of the coolant.
If you need to top up the coolant, make sure that you add anti - freeze to your top up fluid in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Anti - freeze not only prevents freezing, it is also vital for the prevention of corrosion.

Top up the fluid if necessary not forgetting to add screen wash additive.

Check Your Windscreen Wipers
